Tom’s Plan B

Introducing

In this show I seek the advice of experts on living a low impact lifestyle. Through challenges, vlogs and interviews I try to document ways to make real change happen. My hope for this show is that it will be a resource, a tool and an inspiration. A place researchers can look at for their own science communication and a platform for experts to share their oh-so-needed knowledge in a bitesized and approachable way.

We'll gradually introduce vegetarian meals into our diet, with the goal of being fully vegetarian by the end of week seven. I'm excited to experiment with new cuisines and ingredients, but I know it won't be without its challenges. It's important to me to make a positive change for the environment, and I hope to inspire others to do the same.

Cleaning up Europe’s dirtiest river: Ishëm.

This is Ishëm river in Albania, one of the most polluted rivers in Europe. Together with the River Cleanup team I attempt to clean up the beach at the mouth of the river. Over 700.000 kg of plastic waste ends up in the Adriatic sea, coming from this place. In this entry I'm looking at the cause and solutions of plastic waste. How does it happen, what can we do about it and who is cleaning it up? You can see all of that in the first episode of Tom’s Plan B.
